AMD RD890 chipset to support DDR3?

AMD is planning to release a chipset with DDR3 memory support in early 2009. FUD Zilla says the RD890 chipset will support both 45nm Star cores and DDR3 memory.
AMD new start cores will feature support for DDR3 memory and they will use socket AM3. The chipset itself will interconnect with SB800 Southbridge.

RD890 is a desktop discrete chipset and it doesn’t come with integrated graphics. It is supposed to replace AMD 790FX boards out there. It looks like AMD did a good job by not rushing to adopt DDR3 till early 2009, as the prices have started falling, and by early 2009 they just might be at the right level to make people consider buying the DDR3.
