Today's processors and video cards crank out a lot of heat, especially when overclocking is thrown into the mix. One of the biggest challenges in keeping a hi-performance PC cool, is keeping it quiet. While water-cooling is the best option for building a silent rig that can also survive the most vigorous overclocking, tear through the toughest benchmarks and handle the most demanding games, it can also be the most expensive and complex one. For those of us still relying on fans—the more traditional and least-expensive method of system cooling—our choices have usually been limited to compromising between cooling efficiency or slowly going deaf from the constant roar of high-speed, high CFM case and processor fans.
